Independence: Ogun Majority Leader Advises Remonians On The Need For Prayers, Focus And Determination.
Published Oct 1, 2018.
Majority leader of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. (Barr.) Asiwaju Yinka Mafe has advised Remonians home and diaspora to be more prayerful, to remain focused in their pursuit and to have a strong determination as from now on.
Beloved Remonians, on this day, fifty-eigth years ago, our founding fathers brought joy and hope to the hearts of our people when they won independence with their prayers, focus and self determinations for our great country. Nigeria made a clean break with more than six decades of colonial rule, and emerged as a truly independent nation. That turning point was a new beginning for our nation.
In 1960, our diversity became a source of strength, and the new leaders resolved to carry the flag of independence for the benefit of future generations. They had their differences, but they placed a greater premium on the need to come together to build a new nation.
I am confident that Remo will continue to be a source of pride to its citizens; to Ogun State and Nigeria at large; a land that is known for progress, freedom, peace and the promotion of human dignity.
As we celebrate Nigeria’s Independence today, while we are yet to get to the promise land, we must not give up, we cannot just point fingers as to how we got to where we are today. We must focus and commit to rebuild, restore and thereby build a great nation.
Happy Independence Day!
God bless Remoland!
God bless Ogun State!
May God bless Nigeria.
