*Hon. (Barr.) Asiwaju Yinka Mafe Escapes Assassination Attempt On His Life*

We wish to bring to the public notice a d6astardly attack on the car of Hon. (Barr.) Asiwaju Mafe, Majority Leader, Ogun House of Assembly, who is also the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) Candidate for the position of House of Representatives, Remo Federal Constituency.

Hon. Asiwaju Mafe who was in the company of the APM Governorship (Hon. Akinlade) and Deputy Governorship (Mrs Adepeju) Candidates, had earlier visited the traditional ruler of Ogijo and his chiefs, got their endorsement and royal blessings after which the campaign train proceeded to the St. John's School ground to address the teeming Supporters of the APM Candidates.

Around 7pm, the campaign train had finished addressing the people and were on their way out of the popular St. John's School, Ogijo when a heavy stone was hurled from among a group and targeted at the owner's seat of Hon. Asiwaju Mafe's vehicle.

The impact of the stone was such that it left a hole on the owner's side window, we thank God for sparing the life of Hon. Asiwaju Mafe during this unprovoked, unwarranted and premeditated attack on the life of Hon. Asiwaju Mafe.

In our usual style of maintaining the peace, we have asked all our supporters across Remoland to maintain peace and order and we have assured them that the matter would be handled appropriately by the security agencies.

However, we hope the Police and other security agencies are taking note of these events. We are peace loving organisation but wont be intimidated in our quest to take Remo to greater heights. The timidity of a lion should not be mistaken for cowardice.

We enjoin all Police formations and other security agencies in Remo land to act quickly to secure the lives and properties of peace loving people of Remo.
