Ahead of the July 24, 2021 local government elections earlier announced by the OGSIEC.

Political Activities have commenced within the ruling party and opposition parties and they don't want to leave a stone unturned.

Though the opposition parties did there primary elections or selection peacefully where they didn't experience any power tuzzle.

In PDP, Sagamu Local Government, Omooba Damilare Bello Dre emerged as PDP Flag Bearer and all PDP and well meaning Sagamites pledged their supports.

There is a commotion and disorderliness in the ruling party, Ogun APC as the Governor is presently under pressure, power tuzzle is really delaying the announcement of the Chairmanship/ Councillorship Consensus Candidates in some local government most especially in Sagamu and it's more or less like the survival of the fittest.

It's not new to Governor Dapo Abiodun that Sagamu local government remains a pace setter and a determinant factor, whatever that happens in Sagamu directly affect other Remo towns.

In Ikenne, the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is reportedly throwing his weight behind a particular candidate who may not make the final list and the same thing applicable to Former Governor of Ogun, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, who was reportedly interested in a candidate in Sagamu too.

Meanwhile, security have been beefed up in Sagamu, Ifo, and Adodo Ota to maintain law and order.

A source close to the Governor also reported that the Governor's desk is filled up with petitions written against some of the Aspirants and the Governor is taking his time to scrutinize the Aspirants.

SON gathered that some Royal Fathers across Ogun State have put a call to the Governor, stating who they are interested in having considered the atmosphere and sampled people's opinions.

A Leader in APC Sagamu local government said the Governor might not even choose from the last three names submitted to him due to the situation of things and pressure mounting on the Governor. The Leader said he won't be surprised if a neutral person is being announced.

Sagamu local government is highly tensed up at the moment as they all await the official announcement from the Governor.
