No fewer than 345 former councillors under the local government political functionaries between 2016 and 2019 sets in Ogun state have said that they remained with the former governor of the state ,Senator Ibikunle Amosun .

The former local government functionaries said this in a statement jointly signed by Signed Comr. Oyedele Azeez ; Hon Oloko .A and Hon Akinsile for Ogun central ,Ogun East and Ogun west Senatorial Districts respectively .

They refuted a media report that they have defected to Abiodun Camp in the All Progressives Congress .

They said “the former Honourable councillors wish to notify the general public and the good people of Ogun State that we are not part of DA Grassroots Ambassadors and we will never be.

“Also we want the general public to take note that few of our colleagues that are present in the said meeting of Monday 17th of July, 2022 were cajoled on the pretence that the meeting is based on discussion concerning all the dues and entitlements owed by the state government.

“We hereby wish to notify our teeming supporters and the people of Ogun State that, there was no time or place where all the 345 Honourable councillors decamped to DA camp. Our loyalty still remain 100% with our boss. Senator Ibukunle Amosun.

“A rented crowd can not and will not perform the duties of we that are grass rooted. A house built on sand or piles of lies will never stand.

“With this, we urge our members to be steadfast and focus, the next line of action will be taken in due course as we move towards 2023 general election. We the over 250 members remain one and united. “
