A Nigerian born, Ogbeni Adesua Yetunde is currently on the run over threat to life for declining to be crowned as the new Obohnokho’ of Ewosa in the Southern part of Nigeria.

SON reports that her mother inlaw, Chief Ogbeni Eseohe Regina who died on Sunday 25th September, 2022 was currently crowned Obohnokho’ of the Ewosa before giving up the ghost.

Meanwhile, the main duty of ‘Obohnokho’ of Ewosa village is to get all the female children in the village circumcised being the Chief Circumciser. The late Obohnokho’ of Ewosa can't be buried until another Chief Circumciser is ordained and crowned.

Adesua was said to have received some messages from her mother inlaw's village precisely from Owinnana Traditional Council where it was stipulated that she, Adesua would be crowned as the new Obohnokho’ of Ewosa.

According to our correspondent, the Owinnana Traditional Council is mainly into female circumcision and Yetunde had been invited to the village with her daughter while the traditional council head performs all the prerequisite rituals needed to empower her for the great task ahead and her husband has been duly notified about it. 

SON gathered that such ritual is to take place at the market square at noon, with the deceased body lying nakedly on a black mat in the presence of the villagers but Yetunde declined outrightly and vouched never to be part of their bid as it is against her belief because she's foreign to anything fetish.

It was reported that her husband supported her not to hearken to such call which made the traditional council angry with her and her husband and threatened that they will send “Sango” the god of iron to locate and get them killed if they fail to yield to the traditional council's call.

It was also reported that Ogbeni Adesua had scampered for safety with her child after receiving series of calls, messages, letters threatening her life from the traditional council.

Report has shown that anyone crowned as Obohnokho’ of Ewosa won't live more than four years, her mother inlaw only spent three years after initiation and installation as the Chief Circumciser.

No one could ascertain the location or whereabout of Ogbeni Adesua Yetunde and her daughter as at the time of filing this report.
