Just yesterday, March 27, 2023, the Ã’nÃgègè Àrà of Remoland, Comrade Gbenga Lawal also known as Ambassador Easy escalated the issue of electricity transformer fuse within Sagamu metropolis.
It was reported that the newly transferred Business Manager to Sagamu IBEDC, Mr Brume had instructed the staffs to remove the transformers' fuses in many streets in Sagamu local government, throwing People into darkness, punishing even those that don't owe IBEDC as such act is cruel and callous.
Sagamu Indigenes and Residents were filled with enthusiasm as Akarigbo intervened and ordered IBEDC to do the needful by returning all the transformers' fuses removed and stop punishing those now owning.
Save Our Nation SON gathers that Sakora, Folarin, Transformer, Topmost Junction, Ayepe Road, Olayinka, Ewu Oliwo, Ogunyanwo, Kajola street Ajaka, Balufon, Sonyindo amongst others have been put in total darkness for the past 8 days.
Meanwhile, a reliable source form the Palace told SON that his royal majesty, Oba Dr Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland wasn't happy with the with the modus operandi of IBEDC during this time, for punishing those who do not owe the company by removing the transformers fuses of some streets within Sagamu.
Kabiyesi Akarigbo intervened in the electricity transformer issue and convened meeting with the officials of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Co. Though the Officials complained of nonpayment of bills resulting in humongous outstanding amounts. Kabiyesi thereafter directed that the transformers'fuses should be put back in order so as not to punish those not owing.
Akarigbo also pleaded with the relevant communities to assist the company to recoup their money and instructed IBEDC to disconnect only those genuinely owing the company.
