The Ogun State house of assembly Candidate under the platform of the People's Democratic Party PDP, Olapeju Ayodele also known as PJ has defected to the ruling party, All Progressives Congress APC in the state.

During the just concluded election in Ogun State, Hon Olapeju Ayodele PJ contested and lost to the incumbent house of assembly Lawmaker, Hon Adeniran Ademola Adeyinka Sapele who contested for second term in office.

Meanwhile, the INEC returning officer had declared Hon Adeniran Ademola Adeyinka Sapele winner of the house of assembly election in Sagamu II, State Constituency, Makun, Sagamu after polling 4,064 votes against Olapeju who polled 3,977 votes.

Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun welcomed Olapeju and his followers to his country home in Iperu yesterday night where the Governor appreciated them all and tagged their defections, "right steps in the right directions."

Recall, Olapeju had accused of the opposition party, PDP Leaders in Sagamu local government of neglecting him and sabotaging his efforts despite his efforts in ensuring that the elections are won by PDP.

Olapeju also stated unequivocally that he singlehandedly sponsored his campaign and election without any financial assistance from anyone within and outside the party.

"I have my followers with me, we can collectively decide what we want and actualize our dreams, enough is enough, PDP is not a party to associate with in Sagamu local government" Olapeju stated emphatically.

Those in attendance were, Hon Sapele, SSG to the Governor, Hon Samson SIA, Mr Segun Ayodele amongst others.
