The former Governor of Ogun State and current Senator representing the good people of Ogun Central, Ibikunle Amosun, who is also an indigine of Owu land, alongside his wife, Olufunso, joined other dignitaries to grace the occasion.

The coronation anniversary which began on Thursday, climaxed on Saturday, at the palace of the Olowu in Abeokuta, with chieftaincy installations to deserving indigenes of Owu land and non-indigenes alike.

A one-time Senior Special Assistant on Media in Ogun State, during Amosun’s administration as Governor, and retired General Manager of NTA Abeokuta, Funmi Wakama and her husband, Ene, were installed as the Yeye Fiwagboye and Fiwagboye of Owu Kingdom, respectively.

In his speech, Amosun, commended the Monarch for the positive impacts he has made since he ascended the throne of his forefathers, a year ago.

“Kabiyesi, I congratulate you warmly for your peaceful and prosperous reign. Your contributions towards the development of Owu Kingdom and Ogun State as a whole are worthy of note,” Amosun said.

He prayed to God to spare Oba Matemilola's life to witness many more of this season in years to come.

In his remarks, Oba Matemilola thanked the Council of chiefs and all Owu indegenes for their support in the past one year of his reign.
