BREAKING: OGUN: Remo North LG Distributes Palliative To Over 5000 Households

As part of strategies to relieve the people of the economic hardship being experienced through the removal of subsidies, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led government provided palliatives across the States in the country. His Excellency Ogun State Governor, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun CON set up a 29-member Central Working Committee (CWC) on the 29th of August, 2023, headed by the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. (Mrs) Noimot Salako-Oyedele which was saddled with the mandate for the distribution of palliative. The formed committee gave guidelines on how the committee at Local Government Area should be formed to distribute these palliatives among the 236 wards in the state with various groups being represented.


Prince Dapo Odunsi, Chairman Remo North Local Government Area led government swung into action with the statutory committee members which include the Chairman himself, Hon. Kola Awolaja, Member, Ogun State House of Assembly, Remo North LGA, Hon.Oluwaseyi Esho, Deputy Leader Remo North Legislative Council, Mr. Olayinka Babajide, Secretary, Remo North, Prince Gbemisola Obadeyi, Rep. Traditional Council, Baale   Sunday Osiyemi, Head Baale - In-Council,  Chief Fatai Adekoya Idowu, Rep. Olorituns, Mr. Abdullahi Rasheed Olawala, Zonal CDC Rep, Omoba Tai Olufemi Ajayi, Zonal CDC, Ven. S. O. Oyetade, Rep. Christain Association of Nigeria, Alh. Sanni Ireyemi, Rep. League of Imams and Alfas, Imam Ambali K.Opafola, Rep. League of Imams and Alfas, Alhaja Taibat Akinyemi, Iyaloja, Isara Remo, Comrade Yaya Onagbesan, Rep Youth leader and Alhaji (Omo'ba) Abiola Ogundeko, Former Governor Liason Officer who is the Secretary of the Local  Government Palliative Distribution Committee.


The palliatives were distributed to all the ten(10) wards which totalled one hundred and thirty-two polling units with all the various groups in consideration.


The Chairman in his speech, firstly appreciated His Excellency, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun CON for his love and commitment to better the lives of our people and he thanked the people for their understanding despite the economic situation and their hopes for a better economy as there are various interventions both from the State and Federal to ameliorate the high standard of living endured right now.


He acknowledged a total of five thousand, two hundred eighty(5,280) bags sent to the local government area and will be distributed as agreed by the committee with the list collated from all various arms as piloted in the palliative scheme.


He urged all present at the kickoff distribution event to dutifully and honestly give it to the less privileged in the communities and ensure those whose names have been enlisted by the committee as directed and submitted by the delegated arms be the direct beneficiaries.


Also, the Ogun State House of Assembly member, Remo North, Hon. Kola Awolaja thanked the President for his thoughtfulness in relieving the economic plight of our people through the various palliative measures put in place and went further to appreciate His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun for ensuring that these palliatives get to the nooks and crannies of the wards in our dear state.
