The Executive Chairman of Sagamu local government, Ogbeni Afolabi Odulate AFO stipulated his laudable achievements from the day he assumed office till the present day.

This was stated during the commissioning of the interlock road project at Ademola Awosanya Street, Makun, Sagamu on June 13, 2024. Below is the address,

"Today marks another major stride in the history of Sagamu Local Government. We are gathered here for the commissioning of Ademola Awosanya Street, Makun, Sagamu, a road critical to the socio-economic development of our dear Local Government. I therefore welcome you all to this historical making event.

"I give thanks to the Almighty Allah for granting us the grace to initiate and complete this project. 

"On behalf of the people and management of this Local Government, I sincerely thank the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for entrusting us with the affairs and governance of this Local Government for the past 35 months. 

"During the inauguration of the Executive members and Legislative Council Members in August, 2021, I assured our people of our desire to provide projects that have direct impact to the public and will improve the livelihood of our dear citizens. It is on this note that we decided to embark on several projects to write our administration’s name in the minds of our people. This project is one of several projects initiated and completed by our administration.

"Let me reiterate our desire and commitment to the development of Sagamu Local Government. Our administration since assumption of office despite paucity of funds had executed various developmental projects, such as:

"(1)  Reconstruction/Asphalt laying of 300 meters Rev. Mellor Road, Sagamu.

(2)  Reconstruction/Asphalt laying of 300 meters Cinema Road, Sagamu.

(3)  Odokekere Maternity Center (On-going)

(4)  180 meter full construction of drainage and interlocking of Hilltop Road, GRA., Sagamu

(5)  Rehabilitation of the LG. Grader that has been grounded for almost 10 years.

(6)  Donation of 2 used vehicle and 4 brand new Motorcycles for security intervention.

(7)  Purchased of new Toyota Hiace Bus and new Opel Safira Car for the Local Government to ease their work.

(8)  Regular Supply of Drugs to all Health Center within the Local Government

(9)  Payment of inherited two Bank loans (Wema and Gateway Banks)

(10)  150 Pieces of Solar Installation to some areas in the LG.

(11)  Provision of School Benches and Desks for 270 Primary School Pupils.

(12)   Construction of Ogijo Alaba International Market through BOT (On-going)

(13)   Reconstruction of lock Up Shops at Isale Oko Garage through BOT (On-going).

(14)    Construction of about 25 lock Up at Awolowo Market through BOT (On-going).

(15)    Reconstruction of about 300 lock Up Shops at Falawo Market through BOT (On-going).

"Recently in Ogijo during the commissioning of Hospital road, I bragged that facilitated some state road projects in Sagamu LG. Today permit me to brag again by presenting to you 800 meters road reconstructed with heavy interlocking stone.

"To the works department and our contractor, no one get credit for incomplete work, today you have a great credit for this complete road and we will encourage many more work if God permit us.

"Above developmental projects will not be achieved without cooperation and peaceful co-existence we enjoyed during this administration. I therefore sincerely appreciate the entire executive members of this Local Government and the leadership and members of the Legislative Councils of this Local Government for your resilience and commitment in ensuring that this administration succeeds.

"I have been consistently mindful of the weight of public expectation to find solutions to the challenges confronting us because the mandate we have is a free and sacred one. In all that I have done, I have been guided by the sacred obligation to work hard for the good of Sagamu Local Government and to make life better for our people. I want to assure you that we will leave this Local Government better.

"This administration witnessed several challenging ranging from insecurity, paucity of fund etc but we were determined to ensure that we fulfil our commitment with the people of this Local Government

 I therefore, urged our people to protect, guide and see this road as their property by ensuring that the drainage is cleared regularly for free flow of water especially during this raining season. It is your road; therefore, you must ensure it is jealously guided by all.

I specially and sincerely commend our Royal Father HRM, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, CFR, LLB, LLM, FCA, FBIR, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland for his commitment, doggedness, and resilience towards ensuring the peaceful co-existence among our people in the Local Government.

"This development is a product of your resilience and commitment towards socio-economic development of ensuring a peaceful co-existence among your subjects, Kabiyesi.

"Your efforts geared towards a crime free society in Sagamu are already yielding positive result.

"The commitment, understanding, advice and support of our royal fathers to this administration is highly commendable.  I sincerely commend your fatherly roles to this administration. THANK YOU ALL, Kabiyesis.

"To our party elders, leaders and members, we appreciate you all for your sincere support to this administration since inception.

I therefore urge our people to cooperate and be patient with government in providing the needed social amenities to our communities.
