Ogun LG Polls: Sagamu LG 2021: AFO Wraps Up Wards Campaign With 40th Birthday Celebrations, Promises A Pragmatic Government

In line with the provisions of the nation's electoral law, all campaigns, rallies and other public activities by the Sagamu APC local government election campaign committee was brought to a historic closure yesterday, 22nd July, 2021 when the DG, Ogbeni Gbenga Banjo Baruwa led the campaign train to ward-4 and ward-5(both in Sabo Offin) in continuation of its political evangelism and public engagements with the electorates.

The concluding ward tour had a home coming gaiety for Ogbeni Jubril Afolabi Odulate-AFO, who was welcome with sweet renditions by party faithfuls and admirers from his ward, ward-5 and a cheerful Councillorship Candidate, Hon Makinde Taiwo and his ward-4 counterpart, Hon Taiwo Sunday(7 Colour). It was a jolly good day, as ward-5 and highly spirited Sagamu APC members were joined by numerous well wishers in celebrating Ogbeni Odulate's 40th birthday at the campaign ground.

The merriment filled day had in attendance, the Chairman of Sagamu local government Transition Committee who is also the Campaign DG, Ogbeni Banjo Baruwa, OGHA Deputy Leader Hon Abdul Bashir(Hon Segun Shitta), Ogun East Senatorial Chairman of APC Otunba Adeleke Adedoyin(Asoludero), Chief Mrs Tolu Dawodu, Hon Rafiu Opaleye, Hon Muri Awolaja, Prince Adesanya Temitope Oladunjoye(PATO), Representatives of all Ethnic Groups in Sagamu, Representatives of the physically challenged persons association and a host of others.

The highly elated birthday boy, Ogbeni Odulate was flanked by Ogbeni Baruwa, Comrade Isiaka Salami the Vice Chairmanship Candidate, Otunba Adedoyin Asoludero, Mrs Tolu Dawodu, Hon Opaleye, and Hon Awolaja in cutting the birthday cake while the order of the cutting was anchored by the Deputy Leader of the State House of Assembly, Hon Segun Shitta.

The birthday celebrations couldn't submerge the business of the event as Ogbeni Baruwa and Hon Opaleye in the usual campaign traditions, presented the party flag and symbol to Ogbeni Jubril Afolabi Odulate-AFO as the Chairmanship candidate of the party in the Saturday 24th July, 2021 election.

Ogbeni Afolabi and his Vice, Comrade Isiala Salami, after appreciating the leaders and all the well wishers, promised to be very pragmatic in his approach to governance if elected. In continued that he deliberately opted not to promise much at campaigns as he is not going to the Council to run a rhetoric administration.

The seasoned politician, Ogbeni Odulate also described the Saturday election as a walk over for the believers of democracy as the supposed main opposition in the election seems to have taken to fate with their obvious docility except for some serial impostors, whom the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, the " eku ere, eku awada" crooner described as masters at political comedy.
