Ogun LG Polls: Sagamu LG 2021: Situation Report As At This Morning [PHOTOS]

The atmosphere has been charged since the announcement of election date by Ogun State independent electoral commission, OGSIEC, where every parties involved have been working tirelessly in ensuring that they emerge victorious at the polls.

SON Correspondence took to the street of Sagamu this morning to view and report the situation, being a day slated for the local government elections.

SON gathered that there was a low turnout as election materials are yet to get to some polling units as at 10am, election materials just arrived some polling units, though, accreditation and election have commenced in some areas like Onigbale Polling unit, Ilaye Roundabout, Isale Agbowa, Ajegunle amongst others.

Major roads and street in Sagamu are deserted as many people are indoor in compliance to the Government restrictions on movement, where everyone is expected to go and exercise his or her civic duty and responsibility as a Citizen of Nigeria.

The popular Akarigbo road and Ewusi Road in Makun were deserted.

Nigeria Police were sighted at every polling units while Nigerian Army and TRACE mounted roads block at all the entrance of Sagamu.

SON reports that there are APC agents, coordinators standing with tags in all the polling units visited, hardly would you see or notice other agents from other political parties.

In an interview with some of the voters, they commended the electioneering process, saying its been free and fair thus far, and that there is nothing to panic about.

SON has reported that the PDP Flag Bearer, Omooba Damilare Bello Dre withdrew from the Chairmanship race barely 24 hours to the election while Ogbeni Afolabi Odulate AFO of APC has gone through all the various wards in Sagamu local government to seek for the supports of the good people of Sagamu.

Speaking with the APC Vice Chairmanship Candidate, Comrade Isiaka Salami, CIA at Ajegunle area of Sagamu, he stated that the process is going on well and that he's very sure that the process would be peaceful throughout the period of election.

The places visited by SON, Save Our Nation

 are, Olodo Street, GRA, Agura, Kara, Sabo Market, Ajegunle, Ayegbami, Isale Oko, Araromi, Agbowa, Sonyindo, Epe, Ajaka, Baruwa, Hospital Road, Ita Oba, Ewusi Road amongst others.

SON also gathered that business activities were paralysed in the town, though some few people opened their shops.
