Some House and business owners in Makun, precisely at Ajaka (blessed water), thorough Ogunyanwo down to Isale Ojumele area of Sagamu local government in Ogun State have bemoaned over the downpour which destroyed their shops, houses, goods said to worth millions of naira when summed up altogether.
Save Our Nation today visited the scene where the incident occurred and it was so disgusting and disheartening what the erosion has done to the people in the area.
The erosion was allegedly caused by an heavy downpour which lasted for over two hours, on Friday afternoon around 4:00pm.
One of the owners of the shops, Iya Odus, who was more affected explained to SON and recounted her losses.
"I have finished cooking in the afternoon, ready to serve my customers when the rain started, it was like a joke, the erosion entered my shop, carted away foodstuffs, provisions, Gas cylinder, POS Kiosk, amongst others, unprepared rice, beans, garri, tubers of yam, were all soaked with erosion, I don't know where to start again, even my shop was in a state of shamble" Iya Odus expressed.
Another victim, Olu-Ola who is a prominent Youth in Sagamu also recounted his losses.
"I live at Ajaka area, very close to blessed water factory, my street was engulfed by erosion, all my electronics spoiled, other valuable properties destroyed, even other houses in my street loss so many properties to the heavy downpour too" Olu-Ola stated.
An eye witness, Dare, who live at Ogunyanwo said he has never witnessed such heavy downpour in his life, he also noted that some House fences were pull down by the erosion, many rendered homeless in the area as the heavy erosion coming from Dallof, Ajaka area were all channeled thorough Ogunyanwo street down to Isale Ojumele.
Our correspondent who also visited Ogere Remo confirmed that shop Owners were also recounting their losses in the area as the heavy downpour also affected some.
SON also gathered that as it rained in Makun area of Sagamu local government, it never rained at Aiyepe Road, Aiyegbami area, while it only drizzled at GRA Sabo Area of the town.
The residents in the area affected called on the House of Assembly Honourable representing Makun Constituents, Hon. Ademola Adeyinka Adeniran Sapele, Hon. Commissioner for women affairs, Funmi Efuwape, Sagamu local government Chairman, Ogbeni Afolabi Odulate AFO and Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to come to their aid as raining season is around the corner.
