The Church of Christ Evangelical Intercessory and Life Intervention Ministry, Sabon Tasha, Kaduna State has donated 500 bags of assorted grains to Muslims as they prepare for this year’s holy Ramadan fast.
The church revealed that the assorted grains were intended to promote peace, unity, tolerance, love and better understanding among followers of the two faiths.
The General Overseer of the church, Pastor Yohana Buru led a delegation of the church to Kano road Central mosque on Friday morning to make the donation of food items to members of the mosque.
He told the leaders of the mosque that the grains should be shared with the poor Muslims, street beggars, and the less privileged as well as widows.
According to him, the gesture was to enable these identified Muslims to have enough food during the 30-day fasting period.
To this end, he prayed to Almighty God to bring an end to the insecurity challenges facing the country, especially in the Northern part of the country.
“This is the 6th time the church is sharing bags of grains and other foodstuffs to large numbers of street beggars, internally displaced persons, children in orphanages and poor Muslims in the community.”
According to the cleric, “this year’s Ramadan is coming amidst increasing insecurity challenges, high cost of food items, scarcity of Petroleum products, and other cooking items such as firewood and charcoal in the 19 Northern states.
It was reported that the Church had distributed grains, and praying materials to over 500 hundreds of less-privileged, destitute and poor Muslims, which included the widows.
‘We must remember that we are one family under God, worshipping one God, and we are from the family of Adam and Eve, therefore we must join hands to support each other in whatever condition.”
The cleric further called on wealthy Muslims to equally remember the less-privileged, the poor, IDPs and widows in the society so that they can observe the 30 days with ease.
