JUST IN: 2023 ELECTIONS: Appeal Court Reinstates Ladi Adebutu As Ogun PDP Gubernatorial Candidate

Today, the Court of Appeal, Ibadan division through its judgement delivered on Monday, 28th November, 2022 has reinstated the gubernatorial candidature of Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu by setting aside the judgement of Olabode & others (Jimi Lawal’s group) delivered by Justice O. Oguntoyinbo on 27th September, 2022 which ordered a fresh rerun of the gubernatorial candidate.
Recall that Jimi Adebisi Lawal had earlier challenged the candidacy of Ladi Adebutu in court, noting that Adebutu's emergence as Ogun State PDP Gubernatorial Candidate at the primary election was not fair and credible.
The court ruled that Olabode Idris and others had no locus standi to challenge the gubernatorial primary election that produced Adebutu because they were not aspirants based on the electoral acts.
The court agreed with the appellant that Justice Oguntoyinbo went in error to have entertained the matter.
The court also ruled all appeal in favour of appellant (PDP); sets aside the judgment of Justice O. Oguntoyinbo and also sets aside all the orders in the Federal High Court judgement of 27th September, 2022.
