UPDATED: BORNO: PDP, APC Trade Words Over Attacks On Atiku’s Convoy In Maiduguri

As Nigerians approach electioneering period, the battles to win more electorates has begun as Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressive Congress (APC) have started trading words over alleged attacks on PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, during his campaign in Maiduguri, Borno State today, Wednesday.
Senator Dino Melaye who's the PDP Presidential Campaigns spokesman has accused the ruling APC of instigating thugs to distrupt its campaign.
Melaye in his words stated that APC is afraid of PDP as a strong opposition party, he claimed APC sent their thugs to attack them even along the Shehu’s Palace
He also alleged the windscreen of some vehicles used by some party chieftains and supporters were broken By the thugs.
When Journalists contacted the APC State Chairman, Bukar Dalori said he was disappointed at the PDP over its claim. Meanwhile, the APC in its reaction debunked the PDP’s claim, insisting that PDP rally was not attacked by its members or political thugs.
Bukar expressed his displeasure over the allegations made by Dino Melaye that some APC thugs attacked Atiku’s convoy while in Maiduguri for their Presidential Campaign rally today, said it's nothing but a false claim
The year 2023 is fast approaching and all political parties are preparing to win more electorates to their camps in order to emerge victorious in the poll.
