There are massive protests being staged in some part of the country since the inception of the new naira notes.

A community Forum known as Sagamu Peace Agenda Forum has appealed to the populace to eschew violence and embrace peace.

In the early hours of today, a press release was issued through the SPAF Chairman, Otunba Kayode Howells, a copy which was shared with Save Our Nation SON.

"Following the massive protest staged in Sagamu today by the populace, we the members of Sagamu Peace Agenda Forum hereby appeal to the populace to eschew violence and embrace peace

"Truly, things are tough, fuel and naira notes are scarce and such is frustrating and uncalled for but our approaches to issues matter most in this saner clime of ours.

"The peaceful coexistence we've been experiencing and enjoying in Sagamu before this period can't be toyed with, we must maintain peace, order, and remain law abiding.

"Therefore, SPAF frowns at any form of violent protest, destruction of lives and properties would only bring agony to us as a people.

"Our reverred Royal Father, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland had earlier released a statement where it was stipulated that he's already speaking with the Federal Government on the issue, and also mandated the general public to continue spending the old naira notes as no one will lose out in the end.

"Kabiyesi Akarigbo also made it known to us that the decision is neither from the state nor local government but from the federal. His Majesty has pledged to renew all old notes that might have been collected by traders and marketers in the next one month if the situation persists

"We implore the general public to remain calm, cool and patient as this trying time shall passover by the benevolence of the Almighty God". Otunba Kayode Howells stated.
