In response to the ongoing power supply challenges plaguing the Sagamu metropolis, Kabiyesi Alayeluwa, Oba Dr. Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, Torungbuwa II, has intervened, calling for urgent action to address the epileptic electricity supply in the town.

This intervention follows the growing frustration from residents and the Sagamu Youth Association (SYA), who have been vocal in demanding that the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) restore consistent power to the community.

To find a lasting solution, an emergency meeting has been called by the Remo Area Commander, ACP Akinjide Jones Alabi, who has pledged his commitment to facilitating dialogue between the leadership of the Sagamu Youth Association and IBEDC. The goal is to address the root causes of the electricity disruptions and prevent further inconvenience to the people of Sagamu.

The urgent meeting follows a stern warning issued by the Sagamu Youth Association, which gave IBEDC a 48-hour ultimatum to restore power to the town. The SYA’s call for immediate action highlights the urgency of the situation and the impact of the electricity crisis on the daily lives of residents.

In his statement, Kabiyesi Alayeluwa expressed his concerns over the prolonged power outage and emphasized the importance of quick resolution to avoid further unrest. The monarch, along with ACP Akinjide Jones Alabi, has assured the public that all efforts will be made to resolve the matter as soon as possible.

The community remains hopeful that the high-level intervention will pave the way for a permanent solution to the power supply issues in Sagamu. As discussions progress, residents eagerly await positive developments that will restore normalcy to their energy needs.

The public will be kept updated as the situation unfolds.
